We started off by filming a high angle shot looking down on Shaun as he was working in the classroom. This scene shows the difference in Shaun from getting into trouble and doing drugs, to working hard and trying to achieve what he is capable of. Sam filmed the first shot by standing on a table so that he was looking down of Shaun. The fact the camera is looking down suggests someone is there and on top of him making sure he does his work in order to make a change instead of getting into trouble.
Chris then filmed the next shot which was a low angle shot looking at Shaun from a different angle, to highlight Shaun's hard work. Shaun remained seated and pretended to do work whilst Chris sat down and tilted the camera upwards to get Shaun's upper body whilst sat down. After we had completed this scene we then moved location and started to film in the hall way at school. This location required the drug dealing scene in which Shaun would hand over a bag of drugs to Adam Burgess who was one of our extras, whilst Adam handed over the money to make it seem like a real deal. I filmed the shot of Shaun walking down the hall way. The shot was a tracking shot in which I followed closely behind Shaun as he walked. I made sure I had his upper half in the shot and I was slightly to the right of Shaun so that I could capture Adam as he walked from the other end of the hall.
After this shot Sam filmed a low angle shot looking up at Adam as he walked towards Shaun. This was a difficult shot to take as Sam had to be very low to the ground and had to walk backwards so that he could keep the camera still and have it looking up at Adam as he walked. Chris then filmed a shot of both Shaun and Adam doing the deal and this was taken from the angle in which you can see the exchange of the drugs and the money. I then filmed the last shot which was a close up from the same angle, in which I had moved the camera forward to highlight the exchange and to get a close up of their hands as they did the deal.
We then decided to stay after school to film a shot of Sarah played by Anna and Shaun, who are having a conversation to see whether Shaun is ok as she knows he is going through a difficult time. The first shot was a two shot of both the characters in conversation filmed by Sam. The final shot filmed by Sam was a low angle shot looking up at Shaun as he looks away in anger and frustration.
This is the hall way in which we filmed the drug dealing.
